The princess switch

The princess switch is a Christmas themed movie that came out last year. I know I'm late but I think my opinion  still needs to be heard.  It is similar to The Prince and the pauper and a Roman holiday which are two movies where royalties exchange places with commoners in order to experience life as a regular person.  It is a  fun movie  for families to watch and it is very entertaining.  This movie shows that we are not defined by the titles we have but by our characters.
The princess switch is about two people who are very identical although,  they didn't know each other until they met.  One is Stacy, a baker from Chicago and the other is Margaret the duchess of Montenaro ( both roles are played by Vanessa Hudgens from high school musical).  The movie begins by showing stacy who just went through a breakup trying to get over it.  In order to do so,  she goes for a baking competition in Belgravia which Kevin (Nick Sagar)  her best friend and his daughter Olivia  secretly signed her up for.
They all went to Belgravia for the contest because Kevin was also her assistant  and not long after they got there,  Stacy accidentally runs into Margaret her exact replica.  The duchess who was orphan saw this as an opportunity to take a break from planning her wedding to the prince of Belgravia Prince Edward  ( Sam Palladio) whom she did not love but she is marrying him because she wants the best for her people.  The duchess suggests to Stacy that they switch lives just for two days and switch back the night before the baking competition. Stacy sees this as a way to pamper herself and forget about her ex besides,  the duchess told her that the prince will not be around for those two days and all she has to do was have dinner with the king and queen so she agrees. Stacy learns to act as Margaret and Stacy teaches Margaret how to act like her under few hours.

They both swap places and things would have gone well but Prince Edward decided to forfeit his trip in order to spend time with his bride to be ( now Stacy) .At the end of the two day swap Stacy was in love with the prince  just as Margaret was in love with Kevin. Will they ignore their feeling or will they give their love a chance?
What is so special about The Princess Switch.
1) It talks about hope.  Stacy and Margaret lost hope that they could ever find love again but they received a gift they did not expect that Christmas. The gift of love.

2) We are more than our titles. Stacy did not just want to title of a princess or a duchess but she really wanted to have a positive impact on the lives of people around her.

3) This movie portrays Christmas as not just a season to share gifts but a period to show love to those around us especially the less fortunate.

The princess switch has a lot of predictable moments but it is still interesting and princess lovers of all ages will not mind that and also viewers can settle for enjoying it for it's romance and holiday spirit. Characters kiss in a few scenes and there is rivalry during the baking competition but other than that this movie is harmless.  No use of violence or bad words through out. It was directed by Mike Rohl and released on November 16, 2018. It runs for 101 minutes and is not rated
