Seriously Single

 This is a movie that I recommend for all young females. It tells about how Dineo a beautiful and  successful young lady felt that she needed a man to feel complete and successful.  This led to her having a lot of relationships which caused a lot of heartbreak,  embarrassment and frustration.  On the other hand, her best friend Noni is enjoying her single life partying and having casual sex with different guys. She is tired of Dineo's heart break and she tries to make Dineo understand that she should enjoy her single life and not settle for any man just because she wants to be in a relationship.  Does Dineo listen  to Noni or does she go ahead and settle for less than she deserves? 

         In today's world, women feel pressured and a lot of that has to deal with having a man. This pressure has caused a lot of women to settle for men that don't  deserve them. Women have to know that they are a prize and they don't need any man to make them feel successful or complete. This is the first south African movie I've loved since Dr Bones. If you don't like South African movies you might not like this one but it has a strong message. That is all for  now guys have a lovely week..

Upside Down Magic

Upside Down Magic  is inspired by the a book series which the same name by Sarah Mlynowski, Lauren Myracle and Emily Jenkins. The movie strays away from the book multiple times but the message remains the same.

        Upside Down Magic tells the story of a very confident 13 year old girl Nory (Izabel Rose) and her best friend Reina (Siena Agudong). Nory and Reina both had magical powers and they recently got admission into Sage Academy a school for magicians.  Nory can transform into animals while Reina can conjure flames. Reina is not as confident as her friend  whennit comes to magic but Nory would always cheer her on and encourage her.

          When the BFFs get to Sage Academy they were seperated and found their category of magic among the five schools. Raina got into her category with honours while Nory was sent to a category called UDM (Upside Down Magic) because she can not hold a particular form of animal for 6 seconds but loses her focus and transforms into three of four animals at once. The headmistress told the UDM's that they can not become anything great in life. She also said they allowed them stay because they will cause chaos in the real world lastly, they were warned not to perform any magic so that their powers will die. Nory was determined to prove to the management of Sage Academy that every magic is special and the UDMs can be great magicians. Meanwhile Reina without the support of Nory felt that she was not doing good in class (eventhough she was the second best) because of pressure from her classmates and professor. Dark magic seems to be the only support or hope for her  and she became possesed by it and almost destroyed the entire school.

           

The lesson in this movie is that it is wrong to look down on others just because they don't so things your way.  The UDM's were rejected because their magical powers had issues and were unlike normal magical powers but at the end we saw the  usefulness of it. And Reina was good but she lacked confidence in herself. This movie  teaches the audience especially teens and kids to always be confident in themselves no matter what. Self confidence really matters in life and without it even if you are the best in your field or class, you will feel like you're the worst.  We are all unique in our own ways and others may not see our uniqueness but its there.  Don't let anyone stop you from being the best version of yourself.  We are stars and we should  not let anyone look down on us.  That is all for now guys have a great weekend.

Fatal Affair

Fatal Affair tells the story of Ellie Warren  (Nia Long) a lawyer who seems to have the perfect life (the perfect job, perfect house, perfect daughter and the perfect hisband) but deep down she is not happy because she is falling out of love with her husband. When she runs into David (Omar Epps) an old friend from college  she invites him to a club to hang out and Ellie opens up about her marriage and David confesses that he liked her since they met in college. They almost have sex in the bathroom of the might club. David did not stop going after Ellie trying to get her to have a relationship with him and Ellie realized that David is dangerous and she tries her best to keep her family safe.  Does she succeed or does David tear her family apart?

The Kissing Booth 2

The Kissing Booth 2 is the sequel to 2018 The Kissing Booth. Now, Elle (Joey King)  is a high school senior while Noah (Jacob Elordi) is a freshman at Harvard university. Before Noah left, he and Elle had a great summer together and they were determined to make their relationship work despite the long  distance between them. This senior year comes with a lot for Elle. She begins her journey of self discovery while trying to ignore the talk about how long distance relationships don't work. 

       When she becomes friends with a handsome new classmate it  complicates things between her and Noah especially when she thinks be might be cheating on her. Elle would have to make decisions for herself and find out what she really wants.

One Last Prayer

This is a faith based movie with a storyline that is easily relatable to the viewers. David (Niles Rivers) who is haunted by his past struggles to take care of his family. David becomes agitated and angry because of stress and lack of rest. To make matters worse, his daughter Olivia (Brianna Reed) becomes I'll. 

           His wife Alexis (Jessica Craig) convinces him to go to a Men's Bible study group which will help with his anger  because it was destroying their marriage. As pressure from work and home increases,  David finally turns to God for help and support. 

        The moral lesson in this movie is that we should always trust God in every season of life we are in be it good or bad. As humans we all go through hard times at one point or the other in our lives and we always want to solve it ourselves but we should learn to leave it for God to handle. Trust God because His ways are not our ways. No situation is permanent we should be at peace and let God have his way because hard times don't last forever.

The Old Guard

The old Guard is about a group of ancient immortal warriors who have lived for centuries upon centuries and for some reason are unable to age or die. They have to live unnoticed and move around alot so that people will not know that they are immortals. The group of warriors consists of Andy (Chalize Theron) the leader and the oldest in  the group, Joe (Marwan Kenzari) and Nicky (Luca Marinelli) who are lovers and Booker (Matthias Schoenarts) the youngest who was found in 1812. Unknowingly to them, they have been tracked and monitored by Merrick (Harry Melling) an evil scientist who wants to use them as lab rats for his scientific experiments in creating a drug that will cause humans to be immortal. 

       Not only are they trying to escape from Merrick, the group found a new member.  Nile (Kiki Layne) an African American female U.S marine who was stationed in Afghanistan. Nile did not die even after her throat was slit in a combat. Not long after , Andy went to find her and bring her to join the group. The other immortals did their best to make Nile feel comfortable and the tried to make her understand what was happening even though they don't fully understand it.  Together the group of 5 try to defeat Merrick.

        One thing that is clear in this movie is team spirit. The group of immortals see themselves as family and they show great care and love to each other. Also,  Andy has great leadership qualities. She does not want the others to be harmed and she still feels guilty for their member who was brutally maltreated thousands of years ago  before she even found the others. Overall, I think this movie  is awesome and I highly recommend it although the fight scenes can be gruesome sometimes.

Palm Springs

Palm Springs is about Nyles (Andy Samberg) who has been stucked in a time loop for a very long time. He wakes up every morning and he relieves the same day over and over again which happens to be the day of a wedding ceremony in palm springs. Nyles had tried a lot of things to help him get out of the time loop but none of them worked. Knowing that he was stucked in the same day and his actions have no real consequences he lives carelessly , he drinks , does drugs,  has sex with different people and he causes chaos for others. 

         To him life was meaningless until Sarah (Cristin Milloti) the sister of the bride was sucked into the time loop with him. They stick together to make relieving the same day easier for themselves and they try to fill the day with fun activities. Soon, they realize that they have feelings for each other  but Sarah wants to leave the time loop and Nyles wants to stay. Does this end their relationship or begin something new?
