Rampage movie review

Rampage is a monster movie that begins with a scientist in space who was attacked by a mutated rat and she was trying to save her samples  from being destroyed by the rat.   Unfortunately the ship was destroyed and the samples were sent to three different locations on earth.  One of the locations happen to be San Diego Wildlife Sanctuary where primarologist Davies Okoye (Dwayne Johnson ) works.  His favorite animal an albino gorilla  named George came across the genetic sample and became affected by it.  George began to grow uncontrollably, became easily agitated and had excruciating hunger.
The military wanted George dead but Davies was against it.  He teamed up with a
rogue genetic engineer Dr Kate Caldwell (Naomi Harris)  to get the antidote for George.  It was soon discovered that there were two other animals suffering from  the same genetic mutation as George which made it even harder for Davis to protect George.
Finally Davies and Dr Kate got the antidote after facing opposition from the military and evil siblings who conducted the experiment for the genetic mutation and wanted more mutants. They were able to secure only one antidote and he gave the antidote to George and George killed the remaining two mutants.
Rampage was directed by Brad Peyton and was released April 13th 2018 worldwide. It is rated pg13 for violent actions,  destruction and crude gestures.

SKYSCRAPER MOVIE REVIEW

Skyscraper is movie directed  by Rawson Marshall Thurber and it is about Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson)  a former FBI agent and  a war veteran who now works as a security assessment officer for skyscrapers in China. Will and his family lives in one of the skyscrapers he assessed which caught fire suddenly while his wife and children were inside and will was framed for it. Will eventually saves his family and he discovered who actually started the fire and cleared his name.



The movie portrays the importance of family.  Will Sawyer loved his family so much that he risked his life to save them from their burning apartment. The movie is rated pg13 because of strong language and gun violence and it runs for 103 minutes. It was released July 2018.

Acrimony movie review

Acrimony a movie written and directed by Tyler Perry is about a wife Melinda (played by Taraji P Henson) who was tired of  her husband Robert  (played by Lyriq  Bent) . Most of the movie was Taraji was recalling her past experience with Lyriq to a therapist as she was ordered by a judge to go to therapy.

We were shown how young Melinda (played by Aijona Alexus) fell for young Robert (played by Antonio Madison) when they were both in college. Despite warnings from her sisters to stay away from Robert, Melinda could not resist him. Even after she caught him cheating on her with another girl and loosing her ability to concieve due to the way she reacted she still forgave Robert hoping that things will get better.

Melinda and Robert eventually got married and things took a turn for worse. Melinda began working two jobs just to sustain them while Robert works tirelessly on his project which was to design a rechargeable battery and promises that once it is done he will have enough money to take care of them, buy a yatch and diamond ring for her. Well Robert's plan did not work as he was unable to get his work to Presscott Industries which is a company that will be interested in his battery.

Robert runs into Diana (Crystle Stewart) who he cheated on Melinda with years ago and happens to be working with Presscott Industries. She got the attention of Robert who was so eager to make his battery real and he thought that there was no harm in hanging out with Diana. After a while Melind ends up asking for divorce.   A few weeks later Robert was successful with his battery project and he earned a lot of money and got engaged to Diana and he ends up doing all those stuffs he promised to do for Melinda for her. This made Melinda mad hence the court order for her to go to therapy.

The movie was released on the 30th of March 2018 and It runs for 2 hours. If you love mystery and suspense you'll love this movie . It is not suitable for kids as it contains sexual, violence and bad language.

ocean's 8 movie review

     

      Oceans 8 is a movie directed by Gary Ross and it was released on June 8th 2018. I looked forward to watching the movie because of the amazing cast which includes Sandra Bullock (Debby Ocean), Rihannah ( 9 balls), Cate Blanchette (Lou),  Anne Hathaway e.t.c. The movie contains action,adventure and comedy. It is rated pg13 for drug use and foul language. It runs for 110minutes. One thing I love about this movie is that the cast worked well together , although most of them did not know each other before Debby Ocean brought them together to carry out the biggest heist in history they were able to  achieve their goal. 

 Oceans's 8 is a movie I'll  love to watch over and over again because its so interesting and hilarious. The movie is about an all female group of different types of crooks led by Debby Ocean ( Sandra Bullock) an ex-convict who just got out of jail on parole. Debby brought these women  together so that they can steal a necklace worth over $150 million at the met gala an annual event that holds in New York city.. After much planning and a few setbacks they eventually succeed and they got away with the crime.
     

What a Wonder!!

  The movie  Wonder woman is about a young girl, Diana who is the  Princess of  the Amazons  who are a large group of women .  Diana ( Gal Gadot) is loving, caring and kind.  when the island which was isolated was breached when a soldier by the name of Steve  Trevor (Chris Pine) crashed into the island she was quick to rescue him while the other amazons were against it. Steve Trevor enlightened them of the war going on in the world which they knew nothing about. Diana insisted that it was Ares the god of war that is controlling the  humans and causing the war. She wanted Steve Trevor to take her to the war front so that she could find Ares and kill him. So setting up a team they went in search of Ares and Diana finally found him and killed him but Steve Trevor died in the process.

The movie was released   to theaters June 2nd 2017. It was directed by Patty Jenkins and it runs for  141 minutes. The movie contains adventure, drama, science fiction and action. I hope you enjoy the movie like I did. 

What a touching story.

Hi guys, so I saw a movie recently. A real life event turned to  a movie. The name of the movie is Captive it is based on the book Unlikely Angel by Ashley Smith.  It was directed by Jerry Jameson and it runs for 97 minutes.  Captive is an American crime-drama movie it was released in september 18, 2015 
   

             Captive is a true story about Brian Nichols (David Oyelowo) a prisoner who broke out from the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta on March 11, 2005.  He runs into Ashley Smith (Kate Mara) a single mother who was trying to stop doing drugs because she was refused custody of her daughter because she was a drug addict .  Brian claims he broke out from prison because he heard that he had a son and the justice system was unfair to him. Brian then ran into Ashley and hides out in her house holding her captive. In their little time together, Ashley saw that Brian was not really a bad guy and together they read a book THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE  by Rick Warren and they both made a decision to change their lives for good.The movie ends when Brian finally lets Ashley go and she brought the police to arrest him.

 Captivity is not only about being bound or locked up in a place we can also be made captives by our  actions . In a way both Brian and Ashley were in captivity. Brian was a captive to vengeance because he felt he was not given a fair sentence and he was charged with a crime he did not commit while Ashley was a captive to drug. If we want to come out of any form of captivity we have to pray to God for wisdom and direction in any area of life we are facing difficulty. In this movie the book by Rick Warren THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE  gave Ashley and Brian guidance and freedom from their captivity. Ashley stopped drugs and gets back custody of her daughter and today she is happily married and has more kids while   Brian accepted his sentence and he gets to see his son once he turns 18.

The Greatest Showman

The greatest showman is a movie directed by Michael Gracey. It was released on Dec 20th 2017 and it runs for 105 minutes. The cast of the movie includes Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendeya and many more people.

The storyline begins with a poor tailor and his young son Peter. Though they were poor, Peter never let that to hinder him because he had big dreams for himself, he wanted to be a showman. Peter fell in love with a rich man's daughter Charity played by Michelle Williams. The girls father was against their relationship and he sent his daughter to a boarding school. Not long after that Peter's father died and he became orphaned and homeless. Peter and Charity still kept in touch until Charity graduated and they got married. 

 After many years Peter  who was struggling to cater for his family of a wife and two daughters was laid off from work because of the bad situation of the economy. So he decided to start his own business and he opened a museum but no one was buying ticket to visit it. Then his daughter suggested that maybe if there was something extraordinary to see many people would have come to see it. This reminded  Peter of his childhood fantasy of becoming a showman so he gathered people from around the world who were seen as abnormal like a bearded woman, a very hairy man, a dwarf e.t.c to form the performers in his circus. He got a manager Phillip Carlyle played by Zac Efron to help manage the shows. The first show was a hit, many people trooped in to watch it but some people saw the performers as freaks and evil so they wanted them to live their community.

Despite the opposition from a large number of people, P.T Barnum did not give up. He continued to organize his shows and he even went on tour. With the money from the shows he was able to care for his family and he bought a new house for them. After the tour the performers were beaten up and the theater was burnt down. Even then Peter did not give up he got a land set up a tent and continued performing.

This movie is a wonderful movie with a great storyline and moral lesson.  One lesson I learnt from this movie is persistence. P.T Barnum was persistent. He survived being orphaned at a young age, being poor, being jobless and the one that amazed me most  his critics. After his theater was burnt down he did not give up he continued performing his shows. I have made up my mind to be persistent like Peter Barnum.  This movie is suitable for all ages both young and old.
