One Last Prayer

This is a faith based movie with a storyline that is easily relatable to the viewers. David (Niles Rivers) who is haunted by his past struggles to take care of his family. David becomes agitated and angry because of stress and lack of rest. To make matters worse, his daughter Olivia (Brianna Reed) becomes I'll.
His wife Alexis (Jessica Craig) convinces him to go to a Men's Bible study group which will help with his anger  because it was destroying their marriage. As pressure from work and home increases,  David finally turns to God for help and support.
The moral lesson in this movie is that we should always trust God in every season of life we are in be it good or bad. As humans we all go through hard times at one point or the other in our lives and we always want to solve it ourselves but we should learn to leave it for God to handle. Trust God because His ways are not our ways. No situation is permanent we should be at peace and let God have his way because hard times don't last forever.

The Old Guard

The old Guard
is about a group of ancient immortal warriors who have lived for centuries upon centuries and for some reason are unable to age or die. They have to live unnoticed and move around alot so that people will not know that they are immortals. The group of warriors consists of Andy (Chalize Theron) the leader and the oldest in  the group, Joe (Marwan Kenzari) and Nicky (Luca Marinelli) who are lovers and Booker (Matthias Schoenarts) the youngest who was found in 1812. Unknowingly to them, they have been tracked and monitored by Merrick (Harry Melling) an evil scientist who wants to use them as lab rats for his scientific experiments in creating a drug that will cause humans to be immortal.
Not only are they trying to escape from Merrick, the group found a new member.  Nile (Kiki Layne) an African American female U.S marine who was stationed in Afghanistan. Nile did not die even after her throat was slit in a combat. Not long after , Andy went to find her and bring her to join the group. The other immortals did their best to make Nile feel comfortable and the tried to make her understand what was happening even though they don't fully understand it.  Together the group of 5 try to defeat Merrick.
One thing that is clear in this movie is team spirit. The group of immortals see themselves as family and they show great care and love to each other. Also,  Andy has great leadership qualities. She does not want the others to be harmed and she still feels guilty for their member who was brutally maltreated thousands of years ago  before she even found the others. Overall, I think this movie  is awesome and I highly recommend it although the fight scenes can be gruesome sometimes.

Palm Springs is about Nyles (Andy Samberg) who has been stucked in a time loop for a very long time. He wakes up every morning and he relieves the same day over and over again which happens to be the day of a wedding ceremony in palm springs. Knowing that he was stucked in the same day and his actions have no real consequences he lives carelessly , he drinks , does drugs,  has sex with different people and he causes chaos for others.
To him life was meaningless until Sarah (Cristin Milloti) the sister of the bride was sucked into the time loop with him. They stick together to make relieving the same day easier for themselves and they try to fill the day with fun activities. Soon, they realize that they have feelings for each other  but Sarah wants to leave the time loop and Nyles wants to stay. Does this end their relationship or begin something new? Watch the movie to find out.

Desperados

Desperados
is a romantic comedy about Wesely ( Nasim Pedrad).  Wesely is in a dark point in her life and she feels depressed. She has no job, no love life and her unpaid bills are piling up. Wesely has two best friends Brooke (Anna Camp) and Kaylie (Sarah Burns) for comfort and they never fail to sympathize with her, comfort her and encourage her like a good friend.
Finally, Wesely meets a guy Jared (Robbie Amell) they hit it off and Wesely thinks Jared is her Mr Right and she changes her behaviour just to please him. After an intimate night together Wesely does not hear back from Jared for days. She gets frustrated and thinks that Jared has ghosted her. On the fifth day, Wesely, Brooke and Kaylie get drunk and send a mean and insulting email to Jared.  Unfortunately for Wesley, Jared calls her as soon as they sent the message. It turns out that he had an accident and he had been in coma in an hospital in Cabos San Lucas.

Terrified that she had destroyed the relationship before it even started , Wesley came up  with a plan to ho to Cabos and delete the email before Jared gets a chance to read it because his gadgets were still at his hotel and not with him in the hospital. So Wesely, Brooke and Kaylie embark on a  crazy yet eye opening trip to Mexico.
The moral lesson of this movie is the importance of true friends. Wesley had Brooke and Kaylie who were true friends but she to self centred to see it. Everytime they always came to her aid but she never once thought about how they felt it there own personal issues. Brooke and Katie had their own personal issues but they dropped them and went to Cabos with her. Wesely was so self centred this made her to take those around her for granted and she almost lost her two best friends because of it. We should always value our true friends .
I want to let you know today that God is the only true friend one can have. Other people may disappoint or abandon you but God will never do that.  Many times we commit sin and displease God but he is still there waiting for us to repent and come back to him. Even when  we don't  deserve it God shows us mercy. Believe it or not, God is real and he is always there by us and I think it's time we acknowledge God in our lives and stop taking him for granted  because he has done so much for us and he is still doing more. That is all for now, stay blessed. Jesus loves you pass that love to those around you. :) have a lovely week.

Freshman Year

First of all, I'm glad a Nigerian had the chance to direct and produce a movie in Hollywood and he didn't fail to incorporate his Nigerian culture in the movie.
Freshman Year is a Christian faith-based movie about C.J and Marcella. C.j (Diallo Thompson) just graduated high school and was going to college. C.j is a pastor's son and he had a strict christian upbringing.  On the other hand, Marcella ( Natalia Dominguez) and her elder brother were raised by their mother. They were struggling and they were proud of Marcella because she was the first person in her family to go to college.
In college they meet and fall in love with each other but they were hit with a life changing occurrence C.J who planned to focus in God, his studies and football in school but he got overwhelmed with life in the real world  realized that not everything goes the way we planned.
The moral lesson in this movie is first, things don't always go according to our plan. As humans we make plans but it is God that enables us to achieve them. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builder labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain Psalm 127: 1 (Niv) . We should always know that whatever happens to us in life is part of God's plan . We should always rely on Him especially when something unexpected happens.
Second,  this movie shows an example of Gods mercy and how He gives second chances. God is a merciful God and he is eager to show us mercy as long as we go to him with a heart of repentance.  In this movie they sited examples of how great people in the Bible like David committed sins but were still used by God.  You might feel like you have messed up and your life wont amount to anything but just know that God can still use you for his glory. We might feel like we don't deserve God's mercy or forgiveness and we will never get it but that's a lie from the devil. God is always waiting for us with outstretched arms like the father with a prodigal son.  He is patiently waiting for you to come to him.

Feel The Beat

April (Sofia Carson) is a great dancer who started dancing in her hometown at the age of 8.  In order to chase her dreams and become a famous dancer she went to New York when  she got older. But things did not turn out the way she expected and she never got her big  break and she began to struggle financially. So she goes back home to Wisconsin and runs I to her first ever dance teacher Barb (Donna Lynne Champlin) who sees April as a her star student who made it big in Broadway . Barb suggest that April pays a visit to her dance studio and even tach the students for an upcoming dance competition.
April didn't want to do it but when she found out that Wolly Wong a famous director was going to be among the judges in the final round she agreed to do it to make him notice her in the stage of the competition the teacher would be featured in the dance. April planned to use the dance students and the competition to climb the ladder of success so she does not really care about her students or the whole town depending on her and showing her hospitality. She is mean to the students , critical and impatient with them but after a while she realized that she did not want to hurt the people and that being selfish will cause her more harm than good so she decided to change.
Success is good but it is better enjoyed with loved ones around you that is the moral lesson of this movie. Don't push loved ones away all in the name of chasing success it all leads to loneliness and regrets at the long run. That is all for now God bless you.

Selfie Dad

This is a faith based movie that is different from other faith based movie out there. The movie is about Ben Marcus (Michael Jr a Christian comedian) who tries his best to  be a great father and an awesome husband but he is missing something in his life he just doesn't know it yet.  Ben has a job  as an editor but his boss makes his work difficult for him. One day at work his colleague  Mickey (Johnny Pacar) who happens to be a Bible school student began talking to him about christianity and how important reading the Bible is and he even gave Ben a book about reading the Bible but Ben did not take him seriously and he ignored all he was saying.
Meanwhile, Ben's son Jack (Jalon Christian) watches "UToo" a lot and Ben discovers that he can make money from U Too posting comedy videos because he really wants to be a comedian he has passion for comedy. Ben decides to start his own UToo channel and when his "DIY goes wrong" video goes viral he becomes an internet sensation and he becomes obsessed with growing gus channel especially after he got fired from his full time job.
After a frightening incident at home he was forced to turn to God and that was an eye opener for him and the beginning of his relationship with God. He found out that God made his life better. From then on Ben decided that he and his family will live for God no matter the trials and opposition they may face. The moral lesson in this movie is that we all need God even if we don't know it. God created us he knows how to direct and guide us in the best way. Without Jesus you struggle in life but if you accept Jesus into your life he will make life earlier for you. If you have not accepted Jeaua intocyour life today I urge you to do so.  God loves you.  Bye for now.
