Miss Juneteenth

Turquoise Jones (Nicole Beharie) a former Miss Juneteenth who is struggling financially.  She had high hopes about winning the pageant but her dreams did not come true. When  her daughter Kai (Alexis Chikaeze) becomes of  age to participate in the Miss Juneteenth scholarship competition she enrolls her in Hope's of giving her a bright future. But Kai does not want to do pageantry she is passionate about dancing and she wants to join the dance team. The pageantry brought about  a rift between mother and daughter.  Will Turquoise force her daughter into a life she does not want or would she allow Kai follow her passion and allow her to dance? 

The message in this movie is that people should be allowed to make their own choices in life and choice a life they want. You may think you know what's best for someone else and try to convince that person to follow your decision.  The truth is you don't know the person next to you as much as that person know him or herself.  And also don't try to force your life on someone else  especially your child.  A parent may say "I did thi in college so you too must do it!" Or "I went to this university so you must attend it" . That is so wrong,  everyone as the right to make a decision concerning their life cos at the end of the day it's their life and they are the ones living it not you.

All About who you know

Cole a recent graduate and a screen writer has a plan to become famous. This place was befriend Haley the daughter of Michael in order to get close to her father and make him read his script and produce it. Unfortunately, Michael did not like Cole's writing so Cole broke up with Haley . This was not easy because he actually fell in love with Haley.

I don't have much to say about this movie because it really did not click with me but one thing I saw in this movie was friendship. When Cole was chasing after Haley he neglected his best friend Austin but Austin loved him and still forgave him time after time.

2 Minutes Of Fame

This movie is about an upcoming comedian DeAndre McDonald (Jay Pharoah). Despite his huge internet following and  views he struggles financially and this makes it hard  for him to take care of his family ( His girlfriend  Sky and their son Jaiyln). But although pressure from Sky (Keke Palmer) to get a stable job he still chased after his dream in comedy. DeAndre went for a comedy competition in Los Angeles but before he went he bashed another comedian Marques Black (Katt Williams)  and they started insulting each other on the internet. So when DeAndre got to L.A he met Marques and they talked and Marques realized that DeAndre was really talented and he was just scared. So they ended their fight and became friends. Sky also realized  that she could show more support for  DeAndre because comedy really means a lot to him.

 After seeing this movie, this was what I could pick out from it.

 The road to greatness is not easy. If you want to be great in life you'll face a lot of challenges. DeAndre had no money and no job he felt useless  but he had a dream and he held on to it. He continued to pursue a career in comedy and eventually he got his big break. If you have a dream don't give up. Although it may seem as if you are not progressing and its not worth the struggle but just hold on your breakthrough is on the way. 

we should try and support people in achieving their dreams. Sky realized that DeAndre loves comedy and he was good at it so she decided to support him eventhough they were struggling financially.  She believed in him and that increased his courage and he knew that his dream was worth fighting for. Marques an old comedian decided that it was best to channel the energy used in internet war to support each other because they were both scared of failure. Everyone is scared of failure and people need to help each other whenever possible and not bring them down.

Twice The Dream

This movie tells the story of two sisters Amber and Samantha. While growing up, their mother always controlled their lives and never allowed them to express themselves or do whatever they want to do. This hindered them from finding or even chasing their dreams. As adults, Amber and Samantha finally decided to stand up for themselves and follow their dreams but unfortunately,  Amber died before having a chance to chase her dreams of becoming a singer. Samantha did not relent in trying to break free of her mother's control she was determined to follow her dream which was to help Amber finish her song and perform it. To her it was her dream was to help amber fulfill her dream and she did everything within her power to do so. 

The moral lesson in this movie is that we should always chase our dreams even if circumstances or those around us try to bring us down. Our dreams are our mission in life and they are very important we should never give up on them. When we feel like it's getting though God is there to strengthen us all we need to do is ask him for help.  Let me leave you with these verse " for I know the plans I have for you declared the lord. This  movie is about two individuals Todd and Rory  who are unique in their own different ways but they are very compatible together. They don't want to die alone so they are in the search if a soulmate. They love each other but because they have been stereotyped and labelled by the society they find it hard to keep a romantic relationship.  This movie is for those who feel underestimated. In The High Note  Maggie (Dakota Johnson) the personal assistant of  Grace Davis a famous musician had a dream of becoming a music producer but because she was silenced and told to forget about that dream.  But  Maggie persevered and eventually she became a successful music producer. 

            Meanwhile, Grace Davis (Tracee Eliss Ross) a popular musician was also overlooked in the music industry.  Her opinions and feelings was not taken into consideration by her team.  Only her assistant Maggie  encouraged her to follow her passion and do whatever  she wants with her career. Moral lesson of this movie is don't allow people underestimate youn life. You can be anything you want to be as long as you put your mind and effort into it.

Onward

 onward  tells the story of loss and pain. Ian and Barely Lightfoot are two elf brothers that lost their father when they were very young. Barley moved on with his life but Ian always felt the pain and was living in the past trying  to picture life with his father and ignoring everyone else around him. On Ian's  16th birthday they get a chance to bring back their father to life for one day but they have to embark on a quest to complete the spell . Spending time with Barley on the quest made Ian realise  that although he lost his father, Barley has always been there for him as a father figure. The moral lesson of this movie is that don't spend your life worried about something that you can not change this will make you miss the good things in front of you. Ian was always thinking about his late father and he shut himself from everyone that loved him.
