Gemini Man movie review.

In life, mistake are inevitable. We all make them and learn from them. This movie is about a man who tried to correct mistakes he made in the past.
Gemini man tells the story of Henry Brogan (Will Smith) a very skilled assassin. He Ryan can hit a target from miles away. He was on a mission and he planned to retire as soon as the mission was over. Unknowingly to him, the target he just killed was an innocent scientist and not a terrorist or a threat to others. Henry eventually found out about this as well as that he was been watched and was under attack by his agency. The sent an assassin to kill him who happens to be a younger cloned version of himself. Henry tries to befriend his clone and retire peacefully.
To me, this movie is about Henry trying to correct his past mistakes. He saw his clone (referred to as Junior) as a second chance at life and an opportunity to correct his past mistakes.  He made up his mind to guide Junior in his decision making so that he will not make wrong decisions.  We are affected by the decisions we make in life whether we know it or not.  The makers of this movie want the viewers to know that each time we make a decision about our lives, it creates an irreversible mark on us. The choices we make help to either build us or destroy us therefore, we should make decisions wisely.

That is all for now guys I hope you all are doing well during this lockdown period. We shall overcome this pandemic.Stay safe , stay home. God loves you

Parasite Movie Review

I'm not a fan of Korean movies but I heard good things about Parasite and I decided to see it for myself and I was impressed.
Parasite is about the Kim family. They are poor and live in a basement level apartment with no job except meger jobs like folding pizza boxes. The little cash from that can not  be enough to take care of the  family. Eventually, the son Ki-Woo Kim (Choi Woo-sik) gets a job through a friend to tutor Da-Hye Park (Jung Ziso) the daughter of a wealthy man.  Not long after, he recommends his sister for a job also with the Park family and the Parks employed Ki-Jung Kim (Park So-Dam) not knowing she was related to Ki-woo.
Soon, through scheming and plotting Ki-Jung and Ki-Woo made Mr and Mrs Park fire their driver and house keeper therefore making them hire Mr and Mrs Kim. The parks had no idea their employees were related and everything seems to be fine. They treat their staff well and had no issues. The Kim's were happy until they discovered a secret basement in the Park family residence.
In this movie, the director Joon-Ho Bong brings up the issue that humans tend to look away from one another's trouble. The movie touches on societal differences between the rich and poor. Lastly it illustrates the repercussion of greed. The Kim's were greedy and their greed led to their downfall. They could have settled with Ki-Woo working for the Parks but they were not satisfied and they had to make innocent people jobless. People who were also struggling like they were.  This movie thought me that not only the rich get greedy but the poor also can be greedy.

That is all for now guys.. I hope you all are staying safe during this pandemic. We shall overcome!!!

Sonic The Hedgehog

When I was younger I was a fan of SONIC UNDERGROUND  and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. The moment I heard about this movie I knew I had to watch it and I was not disappointed.
This movie is about Sonic (Voiced by Ben Schwartz) an alien who fled his home planet and   came to earth. He was on earth for a long time he loved it here and it became home to him but he had to live in secret so that he wouldn't  be discovered and he was lonely. Eventually he was discovered and he has to escape the evil Dr Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey) . Sonic turns to local sheriff Tom Wachiwski (James Marsden) for hope. In the process, Tom and Sonic form a bond of friendship which helped them defeat Robotnik.

The focal point of this movie is friendship.  Sonic was lonely and he was desperate to become part of the human society. Sonic's character is  very relatable to kids because he behaves like a kid. He can't keep quiet, keep still, he gets bored,  and he just wants a friend. On the other hand, Tom had a wife and people who loved him in his town Green Hills, Montana but he wants to relocate to San Francisco.  He was willing to leave his friends because he felt that the town was small and holding him back from achieving great things in life.

Sonic values the kind of family and friends that Tom had. I always say  value your friends and family but this movie along with the Corona virus pandemic made me realise that we should also value little things . People in some countries that have recorded high rates of cases can't go out easily and those that go out are scared.  The supermarket are almost empty and items we take for granted before mean a lot now. I'm grateful to God that it has  not gotten to that extent in my country Nigeria.
Stay safe my dear reader I love you but God loves you most.

All The Bright Places

All The Bright Places is based on the best selling novel "All The Bright Places" by Jennifer Niven. The story is about two high school seniors Violet Markey (Elle Fanning) and Theodore Finch (Justice Smith). They both had different personalities but they bonded while trying to get over hurt from their past.
The story begins when Finch meets Violet standing on the ledge of a bridge during one of his morning runs and he convinced her to come down. After a while Finch googled her and found out that she recently lost her sister Eleanor. He tries to get close to her but they keep having awkward conversations in their school hallway. Finally they got a class assignment to visit significant places is Indiana where they live and prepare a report on those places which will be presented in class. They had to choose partners and Finch chooses Violet to be his partner and this assignment made them close. As they got closer,  it is seen that Finch too is dealing with trauma from his past.  He was physically abused by his father and his mother always travels so he is usually alone with his elder sister and they are close. Finch has to constantly remind himself to be happy to prevent a mental breakdown from happening to him.
As both characters try to move on from emotional and physical scars from their past they froma a strong bond and they realized that even the smallest moments can be very special and the ugliest places can become very beautiful with the right person. This is shown as both characters found each other in their dark times  and helped each other find happiness .According to them "there can be light in dark places even during dark times". This movie shows the impact of mental illness on ones life, family and friends.

Bombshell movie review.

It is sad that women get sexually harassed in their workplace. They might not speak up due to fear or shame and those that manage to speak up are shunned or not taken seriously. Bombshell is a real life story of 3 strong women who came together to say no to sexual harassment in their workplace.
The movie is about the lives of employees of Fox News.  Specifically about 3 women Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron) Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman) and Kayla Pospisil (Margot Robbie). The movie begin when Megyn co-moderates the 2016 Republican debate and she confronts Donald Trump about the insultive comments he made to different women. This led to a big internet scandal as people began to insult Megyn on the internet including Donald  Trump and a paparazzo even stalks her family.
On the other hand,  Gretchen Carlson is replaced as co-anchor of the show Fox and friends and she is moved to a less popular show where she was overwhelmed by sexist comments. We find out later that she was removed because she did not agree to a sexual relationship with her boss Roger Ailes (Hohn Lithgow). When she got fired later on she decides to sue Roger for sexual harassment.  Her lawyers told her that if she wants to win more victims have to come ou but no one was willing to talk.
Furthermore, Kayla is a new employee working with Bill O'Rieilly and his team. She messed up on her first day then she gets drunk I and sleeps with a lesbian co-worker who the  explains to her what is takes to survive in Fox. Kayla in her quest to succeed falls into Rogers's trap and becomes a victim of sexual harassment.
After a while the women stoop up together against Roger Ailes and more women from the past came forward. Eventually, Roger was fired and Gretchen recieved the sum of $20 million for damages and an apology from Fox.

10 Things To Do Before we Break up movie Review

Have you ever wanted to achieve something and everyone around you was trying to talk you out of it? Coming up with one or more reasons why you won't be able to achieve it? One thing is for sure, you can achieve anything you want to achieve if your have passion for it and if you work hard. No matter the amount of opposition you face toucan still achieve your goal. This includes relationships . In relationships both individuals have to make a conscious effort to make it work.
10 things we should do before we break up is about Abigail (Christiana Ricci) and Benjamin (Hamish Linklater). Abigail is a si glen mother of two. She and her children lived a comfortable life  but she felt lonely especially when the children go to spend time with their father (Abigail is divorced). Abigail met Benjamin on a blind date . Benjamin is immature, does not want kids, can't handle being around kids and he has lost contact with his family. The only thing they seem to have in common is the belief that all good romantic relationships are bound to end in disaster.

They make an "unbucket" list of 10 things to do before they break up. Eventually, they slept together and had a one  night stand. They  did not contact each other until a month after when Abigail found out she was pregnant.  She told Benjamin and at first he had a panic attack but eventually he agreed to raise the child up with her. Everyone they knew told them that they were crazy for trying to raise a child together because they barely knew each other. Do they succeed or do they fail in the relationship they are trying to build? Watch the movie to find out.

Blowing Up Right Now movie review.

In some relationships, couples loose their spark after a while and fall out of love. Especially in this social media age where people post their so called "perfect life" on social media and make others feel pressured to follow in their footsteps. But honestly, those who portray a happy or perfect life on the internet  are usually the ones that are suffering and unhappy in reality.
Blowing Up Right Now is about a couple Shep (Danny Jolles) and Mandy (Sujata Day). They are about to celebrate  5 years of their relationship but they have fallen out of love with each other. Prior to this, they made their relationship look so happy and perfect to their friends . They made up lies and they took a lot of photos so they they can pick and post the best one online. Mandy finally summons enough courage to break up with Shep after they realized that they both wanted different things in life. As soon as she breaks up with him they get an alert on their phones that a Ballastic Missile was bound for their city Los Angeles.  Together they make the best of their last day on earth.
This movie was inspired by what happend in Hawaii on January 13th 2018 when they got a false alarm that a ballistic missile was heading there. The two main characters gave great performances and there are a lot of funny scenes in this movie.
Overall, the moral of this movie is that we should avoid living fake lives and we should always be honest with our friends and partners.  If Mandy and Shep had tried to make themselves happy and not try to please their followers, they would have had a happy relationship.
