Nappily ever after

People may have a plan for themselves and think they have life all figured out but life can surprise anyone at anytime and plans don't  always workout. In Nappily ever after, Violet Jones (Sanaa Lathan) has been living a life mapped out for her by her mother Pauletta (Lynn Whitfield). To Pauletta, appearance is all that matters and she would do anything to make sure her small family always looked good especially her daughter. Pauletta made Violet feel very ugly she always had to straighten her curly african -america  hair daily . This scarred Violet and gave her low self esteem.

As women we should not let our beauty be defined by our appearance or by what others expect us to be but our beauty should come from within.  We should know our worth as humans both men and women.  If a woman feels beautiful inside no matter how many times another person calls her ugly she does not believe it. Instead she keeps her head high and keeps on moving. Live your life for yourself don't try to change your appearance to please someone else. It's your live and if you know youre worth you are going to live it to the fullest. We need to know that we are all unique in our own way this will help with our self confidence, self esteem and self love. Without self love one can not be truly happy and your happiness is very important. When you know your self worth you will have peace of mind and happiness. This in turn will affect other areas of your life .

Back to this movie now, when Violet discovered her self worth she was happy and she wouldn't trade it for anything.  Violet lived a life she wanted not a life someone else wanted for her. Check yourself today are you really happy with the life you are living ? If not the power to change it is in your hands.

Breakthrough Movie review

Breakthrough is a Christian movie based on a true life event. Its storyline is similar to that of Miracles from Heaven because in both movies the main characters suffered from sicknesses. The movie speaks on perseverance, humility and gratitude.
This movie is of  a teenager John Smith (Marcel Ruiz) who fell through a frozen lake while playing  with his friends. He was underwater for 15 minutes before the ambulance came and his heart stopped beating. Joyce Smith (Chrissy Metz) his mother was told that he was not responding to treatment and he had no pulse. Devastated she cried to God and John's heart begins to beat. Despite the miracle the doctor still told John's parents not to ua e hope that John might not recover and even if he does he would have severe brain damage. But does Joyce give up? Does John recover?

This movie is heart touching and the cast were able to carry the audience along through the rollercoaster ride of emotions they passed through. Although it is different from what lovers of faith based movies are used to because it is more real and reflects the life of a true American Christian. This makes the movie unique and enables it to capture the hearts of the audience.
