Little is about a lady that transforms back into her 13 year old self in order to learn some important life lessons. The movie begins with a back story of Jordan Sanders as a little girl (Marsai Martin from Blackish) being bullied in middle school. Her parents tried to cheer her up by saying that the bullying will stop when she gets older because she is smart and no one bullies smart people. Jordan misunderstood this and thinks that being an adult makes you free to bully and she made her mind to bully people first before they have a chanyto bully her.
All grown up, Jordan (Regina Hall) owns a successful firm and is rich but she is extremely demanding and makes her employees miserable especially her assistant April (Issa Rae) . One day when big Jordan (Regina Hall) was being her usual mean self, a teenage girl wishes that Jordan becomes little so that she will stop bullying people. And Jordan wakes up as her 13 years old self the next morning. Confused and frightened, she calls her assistant April to figure out what happened and find a solution. They come to a conclusion that she needs to learn something from her 13 years old self before she can become an adult again. Does she return to her old self or does she continue life as a 13 years old.
This movie is a switch on the movie BIG where a teenager turns to an adult. Although it is not advisable for kids to watch a fellow kid treat others badly, adult viewers will find it e5ntertaining especially if they lived freaky Friday and Big. The movie was intended to show audience the importance of being true to oneself . In my opinion, this movie is trying to inform us that we are still connected with our childhood and some things we do may be based off somethings we went through as a child. Kids might no get all these from the movie instead they may feel that being a bully Pays off because it seems as if Jordan became rich as successful because of her bad attitude while her assistant who is nice and kind was an assistant despite her efforts to get a promotion. Although a comedy, Little can pass mixed messages to the audience and the comic relief in it is when Jordan does something unbelievable either as a teen or an adult. The movie contains a lot of scenes of people being treated as dirt or slaves. A teen tries to drink and she even drives . There are few sexual advances. Strong language is implied and not spoken out but mild language like damn, crap and hell are used. It was directed by Tina Gordon Chism and was released on April 12,2019. It runs for 108 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some suggestive content.
